Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) February 7, 2006 -- Jennifer Gail Gordon Memorial Scholarship-Southwest Dekalb High School Tip-Off Club presents its 2005-2006 Annual Panther Basketball Awards,Sunday April 2,2006 at 6:00p.m. at the newly refurbished Holiday Inn, Decatur Conference Plaza,
130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, Georgia, 30030.
This season,the Awards Gala will be hosted by Brandon Leak,Sports Anchor Personality with 790 TheZone Radio, special guest speaker, The Honorable Judge Johnny Panos, State Court of Dekalb County, plus the mesmerizing musical style of Jazz/Funk electric violinist Delores Major.
Two seasons ago (2003-2004), we lost Jenny, our Lady Pantherette to Embryonal Rhabdomyosacoma-pelvic tumor and rare form of cancer. Just two weeks shy of her High School graduation ceromonies. Shortly after her passing, the Gordon family was informed that Jennifer had been awarded The Ronald McDonald House and Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship. In an effort to continue to celebrate her life,appreciate and remember her endearing spirt, enthusiasm and passion for academics, basketball and her friends, we her SWD Basketball Family are establishing this Scholarship in Jenny's name and memory.
