Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 8, 2006 -- The prestigious "International Songwriting Competition" (ISC) has announced that Antonio Pontarelli is a finalist for the 2005 year’s competition which brought 15,000 entries from 80 countries. The winners are set to be announced later this March and over $150,000 in cash and merchandise will be awarded. Antonio was selected as a finalist in the Teen music category and will be giving a special appearance and playing rock violin "live on the red carpet" at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet on February 8th.
During the month of February members of the public can take part in the 2005 People's Voice -- an online voting contest that allows them to listen to and vote for their favorite ISC finalist. The winner of the People's Voice is in addition to, and completely separate from, the regular winners who will be selected by the ISC judging panel. People's Voice is judged solely by public vote. The Peoples Voice winner will receive over $1,500 in prizes. “I’m very honored to be considered for this competition,” said Antonio “Last year when I was deciding on material for my upcoming album, I wrote a song called “Under Age” which told the story of triumph amongst my age group. It has since become a teen anthem.” Antonio has not only received recognition as a songwriter. Last month, he won “Best Instrumentalist" in the Inland Empire Music Awards.
