Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas (PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- “Most Fortunate Son,” a mystery/suspense novel by talented new author Eric Luck, will be released by PublishAmerica to bookstore shelves on March 27, 2006.

“Most Fortunate Son” is the story of Jerry Wilson, a private investigator in Ft. Worth, Texas who encounters the misfortune of having a wealthy woman client turn up dead. The police calculatedly work their way through suspects, but they start with Jerry. Jerry believes his client’s cheating husband killed his own wife. He gets faster action than the police by investigating the cheating husband himself.

While working on that murder case, Jerry’s partner asks Jerry to find out the truth about how his partner’s oldest son was killed in Vietnam – 37 years ago. This will require Jerry to interview survivors of one of the most intense battles of the Vietnam War, all of who witnessed significant brutalities besides the death of James Kohler in 1968. None are interested in revisiting those memories. Maybe the only way to achieve any level of understanding about the Vietnam War was to have been there. Many veterans believe it. Jerry discovers there are different levels of understanding. He finds himself dealing with some of those Vietnam veteran issues in his own life and having to make difficult decisions in the face of life threatening pressures.

The story also addresses the timely subjects of elder abuse and theft of an elderly person’s estate by family members. Family battles over such issues are all too prevalent in today’s world. The results from this chaotic and compelling case-juggling story changes lives, especially Jerry’s.

Luck has woven a multi-dimensional plot utilizing characters worthy of cheer and some deserving of scorn. That approach always makes for a fun read. The book cover design has been released by PublishAmerica and may be seen along with book excerpts and pre-publish book reviews on his website at www.ericluck.net.

Born in Midland, Texas, Eric Luck spent his youth in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. Eric is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has been a business professional, husband and father throughout his adult life. After a thirty year career in business, “Most Fortunate Son” is Eric’s first novel.
