Bosses Break Trust By Jumping to Conclusions and Sharing Secrets

Badbossology.com and Development Dimensions International survey finds that bosses often break trust with employees by jumping to conclusions and betraying their confidence.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 13, 2006 -- Based on a recent Badbossology.com survey sponsored by Development Dimensions International (http://www.ddiworld.com), the two most frequent ways bosses break trust with their employees is by jumping to conclusions before checking facts and betraying their confidence by sharing something the employee perceived as a secret.

”Trust is a critical component of building a successful team," said Rich Wellins, Senior Vice President, DDI. "Bosses need to open the lines of communication and understand what is breaking down trust on their team."

Specifically, when asked what was the most unforgivable thing a boss could do to break their trust, of the 700 people who completed the Badbossology.com survey: 30% said jumping to conclusions before checking facts; 24% said betraying their confidence or secrets; 18% said taking credit for others' work; 16% said showing favoritism; and 10% said ignoring poor performance.
