The World Peace Forum organizers are ready to take registrations online. Participants from around the world can fill out the electronic form and obtain 'early bird' registration fee.

Vancouver (PRWEB) February 11, 2006 -- The World Peace Forum organizers are pleased to announce the launch of the online registration system. Participants from all over the world can access the registration form at the Forum’s website www.worldpeaceforum.ca.

The Forum staff receives hundreds of emails every week from individuals who want to come to Vancouver to attend the international event scheduled from 23 to 28 June, 2006. Starting today, people and organizations will be able to use this electronic tool to confirm their attendance.

The registration is a simple process. Participants may enter their personal information and choose the top three topics of interest before submitting the form for registration. Payment can be made by PayPal, cheques from the US and Canada, and bank transfer from outside of North America.

Early bird registration fee is offered at CAN$175 until April 30 and provides complete access to conference sessions. After May 1, the regular registration fee will be CAN$225. Discount for students and seniors is available.

The Forum’s website has an accommodation section with useful information for participants who need a place to stay during the conference.

There are exciting activities planned for the week of the World Peace Forum. The September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows will conduct sessions on “Civilian Casualties to War”; the BC Teachers Federation is putting together a peace education conference; and prominent speakers such as Canadian Senator Doug Roche, Australian Dr. Helen Caldicott, and Canadian author and social activist Mel Hurtig will be present. Renowned author and educator Noam Chomsky will address the Forum via live satellite link.

Organizers are planning two music concerts under the sponsorship of the Canadian Landmines Project and the Secure World Foundation. There will be graphic art exhibits including the Hiroshima Exhibit of photographs and artifacts from the bombing of Japan and an art installation for peace by Yoko Ono.

About the Forum: The World Peace Forum 2006 is an international gathering of individuals, groups and civic governments from cities and communities to envision a living culture of peace and sustainability in our lifetimes.

The goal is to build strong networks of people and organizations that can be most effective in influencing national governments to redirect global spending from militarism to human needs and to promoting peaceful solutions to conflicts in the world.
