Kissimmee, Fla., (PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- Kissimmee Utility Authority, Florida's sixth largest community-owned electric utility, today released its 2005 annual report.
The 48-page report, titled "A Lifetime of Power," represents the culmination of a successful year of accomplishments for KUA and serves as a farewell tribute to the eight diesel generators at the utility's Roy E. Hansel Generating Station.
The generators and the historic buildings that housed them were decommissioned on September 30, 2005 after 104 years of continuous service to the residents of Kissimmee. The facility was decommissioned because the units were no longer economical to operate.
Audited financial statements in the report show increased residential customer growth in 2005 of 3.6 percent. Energy sales increased by 7.6 percent.
