After a long and arduous submittal process, the bands selected to launch the site were chosen because their music stayed true to the surf guitar sounds of Dick Dale and The Ventures but also brought a fresh and new interpretation to the genre.

In 1999 the company partnered with Indie Filmmaker Bruce Brown to represent his library of surf films which included the seminal "The Endless Summer". It's considered to be the first film about the sport of surfing to appeal to mainstream audiences. First released in 1964 "The Endless Summer" still holds a special place in the hearts and minds of surfers and non surfers.
