VueScan 8.3.28 continues to fully support all Konica Minolta scanners.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 15, 2006 -- Hamrick Software, the developer of the world's most popular scanning software for consumers and professionals, has announced continued support for Konica Minolta scanners after Konica Minolta withdraws from the film scanner market on 31 March 2006.

Konica Minolta will no longer develop or enhance their film scanner software after this date, and will not release new versions for Windows Vista or the Intel Macintosh. VueScan will provide this capability for the hundreds of thousands of people worldwide that own Konica Minolta scanners.

By using VueScan they can have many more years of use from their scanners, and keep up to date with all the latest functionality of scanning.
VueScan currently supports over 430 scanners, and provides support for the following Konica Minolta scanners:

QuickScan 35, Konica Qscan, Scan Dual, Scan Dual II, Scan Dual III, Scan Dual IV, Scan Elite, Scan Elite II, Scan Elite 5400, Scan Elite 5400 II, Scan Multi, Scan Multi II,Scan Multi Pro and Scan Speed.

"We have a very large customer base -- over 130,000 people. Of these, many purchase VueScan for its powerful features and better quality scans, but we also have many customers who are no longer supported by the manufacturer, and VueScan represents a way for them to continue to use their perfectly good scanners," noted Ed Hamrick, president of Hamrick Software. " By using VueScan they can have many more years of use from their scanners, and keep up to date with all the latest functionality of scanning."

VueScan also recently announced the support of the new Apple Macintosh systems that use Intel processors, and all Konica Minolta scanners will be supported on these new computers. This enables Apple users to continue to use their film scanners and flatbed scanners with these new Apple systems. Again, this offers customers the chance to retain their existing scanner and purchase a new MacBook Pro or iMac without needing to buy a new scanner. Even older SCSI scanners can be used with these new Apple systems, by using a Firewire to SCSI converter or USB to SCSI converter.

Supporting more than 100 brands of negative film and over 430 scanner models, one license number will also support up to four different computers.

VueScan is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. VueScan offers options for scanning faded slides and printsand automatically adjusts images to optimum color balance that reduces the need to manually do this in Photoshop. It includes built-in color calibration of scanners, producing colors that look true to life, batch scanning, IT8 color calibration and other advanced and powerful scanning features, including PDF output. For a detailed listing of VueScan features see: http://www.hamrick.com/abo.html.

VueScan VueScan is available in two editions, Standard Edition of VueScan ($49.95 USD) and Professional Edition ($89.95). The Professional Edition adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for raw scan files. Multi-user licenses are available. A fully functional, trial copy of VueScan can be downloaded from http://www.hamrick.com/.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, Hamrick Software was founded in 1991. Its first product was VuePrint, an easy to use JPEG viewer for Windows that for many years was the recommended image viewer for AOL, with more than 100,000 users. In 1998, the company first released VueScan, a program for scanning with flatbed and film scanners with more than 120,000 users all over the world.
