HaiVision Systems Inc., the industry leader in high resolution, interactive network video, today announced that its newest network video appliance, the hai200 TASMAN, is now generally available. The hai200 TASMAN delivers, low latency, high resolution broadcast-quality video at less than 1 Mbps to enable an entirely new range of video-centric communication applications.

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) February 15, 2006 -- HaiVision Systems Inc., the industry leader in high resolution, interactive network video, today announced that its newest network video appliance, the hai200 TASMAN, is now generally available. The hai200 TASMAN delivers, low latency, high resolution broadcast-quality video at less than 1 Mbps to enable an entirely new range of video-centric communication applications.

Global organizations are now, more than ever, dedicating full T1 or DSL access for communications with their remote facilities. Based on a new highly efficient standard in video compression, MPEG-4 AVC (also known as H.264) the hai200 TASMAN provides DVD quality audio video transmission within the constraints of today’s network access and satellite transmission systems. Further, the hai200 TASMAN can be tuned to optimize bandwidth usage for a range of applications, from full motion, high resolution action video, to light bandwidth “talking heads”, where only a small fraction of the picture changes at any time.

The TASMAN is a critical milestone for HaiVision
HaiVision is renowned for the quality of its interactive networked video systems, always optimizing their platforms to minimize any delay introduced by the encoding and decoding process. Minimizing latency is critical in achieving truly interactive communications that are sustainable by participants for many hours without fatigue.

"The TASMAN is a critical milestone for HaiVision," said Francois Gariepy, President of HaiVision. "It is the result of a long effort to deliver the product performance that our users demand at nearly half the bandwidth. HaiVision is leading the market in high performance high quality MPEG-4 AVC H.264.”

HaiVision’s systems satisfy the highest performance applications demanding native high resolution, super wide band audio, ease of use, reliability, and network resilience.
