Professional speaker and author, Steve Holloway launches campaign to encourage business and voluntary leaders to exercise generosity in their leadership. He demonstrates that an open hand builds an open repsonse improving employee retention, productivity and work/life balance.

London, UK (PRWEB) February 15, 2006 -- Professional speaker and author, Steve Holloway has launched a campaign to encourage business and voluntary leaders to exercise generosity in their leadership.

Holloway (35, London) is the founding CEO of a UK based charity which is training emerging leaders who work with troubled young people. He is currently training twenty one voluntary and employed leaders.

So much leadership training is rooted in the question
With over 15 years public speaking experience, Holloway is widely recognized as an exceptional speaker, leader and influencer. His experience in the voluntary sector has helped shape Generous Leadership. He says “Leading volunteers is different from leading staff. You don’t have a carrot or stick. You really have to rely on being able to describe the future and inspire people to it. If they are not with you, they just won’t turn up and there is nothing you can do about it.”

Holloway’s conviction that a leader’s motives; whether in business, voluntary organizations or personal lives will more often than not dictate their leadership style. His unique perspective of Generous Leadership (http://GenerousLeadership.com) is based on the premise that leadership is about people and not projects and people respond to genuine generosity.

“So much leadership training is rooted in the question “How much can I get out of my team?” It is project based leadership that sees achieving the goal as the most important part of leadership. Generous Leadership asks “What can I put in to my team?” It recognizes that leadership is about people – invest in and give to them and they will nearly always fulfill the future. Generous Leadership is about giving everything that is needed.” says Holloway.

Through http://GenerousLeadership.com, Holloway plans to help leaders recognize their responsibility to be holistic. “We need to lead people, not projects. In the end selfish leaders lose out. People leave or they don’t perform. Eventually a closed hand will elicit a closed relationship and response.”

The principle of Generous Leadership will be communicated via seminars and keynotes, the internet at http://GenerousLeadership.com, Holloway’s unique learning system REAP-IT and his e-zine which is available via the website.
