Oneonta, NY (PRWEB) February 20, 2006 -- Dr. Ken Stalter is currently planning a April 1, 2006 Mount Everest Climb to raise funds and awareness of Leukemia.
Dr. Stalter will be attempting this climb in memory of his daughter Leah Stalter who he tragically lost to this disease in 2001. Climbing to the summit of Mount Everest is a dangerous task, however, as Dr. Stalter remarks on his website in a personal letter,"The challenges faced daily by children with this disease are far greater than any I will encounter on this climb."
He is attempting this feat in the hopes of raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of N.Y. Interesting to note that there will be daily updates while Dr. Stalter is on his climb, on the Expeditions Page of the site. Dr. Stalter has attempted Mount Everest in the past and failed. He is confident this time he will make it as his main inspiration will now be the little girl that faced much more while battling the disease that finally took her life. This will be an interesting journey to follow as Dr. Stalter attempts to conquer Mount Everest.
