Volterra’s Signature Fennel Salt to Make its Red Carpet Debut

Celebrity attendees of “Night of a 100 Stars” Oscar Gala to Receive Volterra’s Signature Fennel Salt

(PRWEB) February 27, 2006 -- Chef Don Curtiss, of the internationally acclaimed Volterra restaurant, today announced that his signature Fennel Salt was chosen to be included in this year’s celebrity gift bags at the “Night of 100 Stars” Oscar Gala. Curtiss and his wife, Volterra’s managing partner, Michelle Quisenberry, will perform a demonstration for the celebrities who attend the hottest celebrity Oscar party in town at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

Volterra received the invitation from Nancee Borgnine, VP of Marketing for Hollywood Connection. “I tasted Volterra’s Fennel Salt at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and thought it was incredible,” said Ms. Borgnine. “I think our attendees will enjoy this delicious seasoning tremendously and am pleased to be able to include it in our celebrity gift bags.”

Curtiss unveiled his signature Fennel Salt to rave reviews at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco last month. The boldly flavored Fennel Salt -- inspired by Curtiss’ travels throughout Italy -- is made with freshly toasted, organic fennel seed, organic orange peel, and other traditional flavors of the Italian peninsula. Fennel salt is a staple at Volterra along with Ritrovo import Trampetti Extra Virgin olive oil and is served as an accompaniment to the bread service.

Volterra -- located in Seattle, Washington and open for dinner every night and brunch on weekends -- features seasonal Tuscan specialties, all natural and organic meats and poultry, and housemade pasta. The 75-seat restaurant also features a warm-weather patio, late-night dining in the bar, an extensive list of Italian and local wines by the bottle or glass, and housemade limoncello.
