Monterey, CA (PRWEB) February 24, 2006 -- Chromis LLC, a recently formed Monterey-based company introduces the Central California Coast Interactive CD-ROM, a one-of-a-kind interactive digital tour guide highlighting the Central Coast. Designed for use by both visitors to and residents of the area, the CD-ROM creates a unique multimedia experience, and can be used as a travel guide, for educational purposes, or for pure entertainment. With a few clicks of a mouse, it is possible to find accommodations, plan interesting activities (whale watching, hiking, bicycling, kayaking, etc), and learn about the history of region.

“Our goal was to create a comprehensive product that revolutionizes the way we plan our excursions and activities, and offers a refreshing alternative to bulky travel and activity guides that until now were the only option,” said Chromis LLC Founder and President Brad Damitz. “This CD-ROM will allow travelers to maximize their Central Coast experience and truly take advantage of what the area has to offer. It is guaranteed to remind nearby residents of what a spectacular area they live in by informing them of the endless opportunities for outdoor activities, the region’s rich history and its remarkable wildlife. It also allows people not able to witness the wonders of the Central Coast firsthand, to experience the beauty of the area from their PC. It truly is the ultimate travel and adventure guide.”

The Central California Coast Interactive CD-ROM contains a photo library with more than 500 high-quality photos and captions from Monterey County, Hearst Castle, and Cambria, a 10 minute full-screen slide show with music, over 100 pages of printable information guides and maps, website links, contact information and addresses, computer desktop wallpaper photos, and many more features. Guides for each community include a general description of the area as well as history, basic travel information such as lodging, dining, and transportation, things to do and see, and full color printable maps. For the more adventurous, there are activity guides on kayaking, whale watching, bicycling, hiking and walking, diving, golf, and camping, as well as guides for many of the area’s outstanding beaches. There is also a collection of wildlife and nature guides with detailed information on whales and dolphins, sea otters, seals and sea lions, birds, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and a primer on environmental conservation and stewardship. Each of these guides can be printed and the CD makes it easy to create a customized travel guide that can be carried along on adventures.

The CD was created locally and manufactured in California, and is both Macintosh and Windows compatible. Five percent of the profits from this product will be donated to local non-profit organizations. The Central California Coast Interactive CD-ROM is available for $14.95 on our website, and at select stores.

To get the most out of the Central California Coast Interactive CD-ROM, it is recommended that users have an Internet connection so that they may take advantage of the many links to visitor information websites, restaurants and hotels, tourist attractions, transportation information sites, and a plethora of other useful websites that are available directly from the CD menus. Using this CD it is simple to accomplish anything from checking the weather forecast, to finding accommodations, or making reservations and planning a seemingly endless variety of activities, without wasting hours aimlessly surfing the web.
