(PRWEB) February 28, 2006 -- Lt. Col. Bob Weinstein, aka the Health Colonel, launches a new lifestyle-based weight loss and fitness program designed to result in permanent weight loss and weight management to be spearheaded by Monica Wrigley, aka the Health Queen.

Col. Weinstein on his new program: “There is actually nothing whatsoever that is new about this weight loss program. The focus of the program is to make some positive adjustments in the way of thinking so that exercise and healthy weight management become an integral part of life. All those 'I can’t' thoughts are cast out and replaced with 'I can.' "

There is actually nothing whatsoever that is new about this weight loss program. The focus of the program is to make some positive adjustments in the way of thinking so that exercise and healthy weight management become an integral part of life. All those 'I can’t' thoughts are cast out and replaced with 'I can.'
Asked what his motivation for starting the M.O.V.E. program, Col. Weinstein responds, “There are enemy soldiers on American soil. The names of these soldiers are heart disease, cancer and stroke. They are killing over 3,000 Americans a day. The source of these diseases is an unhealthy lifestyle.”

“Being overweight is symptomatic of a lifestyle that is promoting disease in our lives. Two age groups that really impact me are children and seniors. Type II diabetes used to be an adult disease. Our children have taken on the same sedentary lifestyle and eating habits of many adults resulting in Type II diabetes.”

“In my view, if we had a threat level alert for health similar to a terrorist threat, we would need to be at the highest level. In fact, serious measures need to be taken at all institutional levels to fight this health threat. Our leadership in schools, governments, corporations, hospitals, restaurants and other institutions need to set the example and be a role model for healthy lifestyle change. This is a special challenge that cannot be ignored.”

Col. Weinstein then points out some alarming statistics which are taken from the CDC National Center for Health Statistics:

- 64 % of adults ages 20 and older are overweight or obese.
- 30 % of adults 20 and older are obese.
- 15% of adolescents 12 to 19 years old are overweight.
- 15 % of children age 6 to 11 years are overweight.

So what does the acronym M.O.V.E. stand for? “M.O.V.E. stands for:

  • M aximize your results.
  • O vercome your weaknesses and bad habits.
  • V ictory is assured through lifestyle change empowerment.
  • E nergy levels will soar.”
