Infrared Sciences Surpasses $1 Million Milestone for Sentinel BreastScan™ Systems Placed in Service Free to Qualified Medical Doctors

Early cancer-detection systems now in place are capable of determining the breast health of more than 100,000 women annually.

Stony Brook, New York (PRWEB) February 6, 2006 -- Infrared Sciences Corporation (“ISC”), maker of Sentinel BreastScan™ early cancer detection systems, has achieved a
$1-million milestone for equipment placed into service to meet the breast health detection requirements of women across America.

“This is not the infrared technology of yesterday,” said ISC President Tom DiCicco. “Sentinel BreastScan’s ease of use and proven effectiveness represent a quantum leap from any previous infrared imaging system.”

Unprecedented power for early detection
Sentinel BreastScan is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure. Utilizing modern infrared imaging and proprietary artificial intelligence software, Sentinel BreastScan can detect the first signs of cancer up to ten years before any other procedure can detect its presence.

The system is designed to be used as an adjunctive test with mammography, ultrasound, MRI or clinical examinations. The unique physiological data provided by Sentinel BreastScan has also proven to be ten times more significant as a future risk indicator than a woman’s family history of breast cancer.

A painless, touchless procedure
Sentinel BreastScan is a non-invasive procedure that does not require compression or touching of the breasts. The patient sits in a chair, disrobed from the waist up, facing the Sentinel BreastScan unit, as cool air is circulated across the chest. Test results are immediately available in the form of a fully-interpreted, objective report, to assist in the doctor’s determination of breast health.

Sentinel BreastScan is available to all women over 18, including those with implants, dense breast tissue, or mastectomies, and those who are pregnant or breast-feeding. For younger women, Sentinel BreastScan is additionally valuable, as it can establish an early baseline for future screening test comparisons.

Doctors can add Sentinel BreastScan to their practices
For qualified U.S. doctors, there are no up-front fees or purchase costs. Doctors interested in having a Sentinel BreastScan™ system, or Medical Product Distributors interested in adding Sentinel BreastScan™ to their product lines, are invited to contact ISC.
