Portland-based QMIND, which introduced the e-learning industry’s first “on demand” content design system last fall, will be presenting at Oregon’s premier investment event.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) February 13, 2006 -– It was announced today that QMIND, Inc. has been selected as a finalist in Angel Oregon 2006, the Northwest’s premier investment competition for innovative startup companies. QMIND, the leader in “on demand” e-learning authoring solutions, will be competing with three other startups for a winner-take-all prize of $150,000.

The CEO of QMIND, Michael Berkley, said, “Being selected as a finalist in Angel Oregon is a huge honor and further validates our business model. QMIND is positioned well within a niche market that is starting to explode. In just the first few months since releasing our product, we’ve received incredible validation from a growing set of customers, resellers, and partners. These are the basic ingredients of an attractive seed opportunity for angel investors.”

We're very excited to see a young and promising company like QMIND competing for the $150,000 investment prize at Angel Oregon
QMIND’s flagship product, released last October, is a Design Collaboration Platform that enables teams to collaboratively produce interactive multimedia over the web, in about half the time normally required using traditional methods. The web-based system is being adopted by training and marketing teams within corporations, government agencies, and higher-education institutions seeking to increase the quality of content while reducing costs. It is offered on a monthly or annual subscription basis.

"We're very excited to see a young and promising company like QMIND competing for the $150,000 investment prize at Angel Oregon," said Linda Weston, president and executive director of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum (OEF), which is presenting the event. "The four finalists this year are all excellent examples of the kind of creative, even visionary companies growing here in Oregon. This year's competition is going to be very impressive."

QMIND is headquartered at the Portland State Business Accelerator, a business incubator for start-up technology companies that links resident companies to the resources of the university community as well as the business community.

"QMIND's leadership has shown good business savvy in the company's short stay here. It knows its market well and is doing the things a start-up needs to do to be successful," said Carol Mason, director of the Accelerator.

The Angel Oregon conference will be held on February 23rd in Portland, Oregon. Event and registration details can be found at www.oef.org.
