(PRWEB) March 3, 2006 -- LinuxWorld and NetworkWorld Conference & Expo, April 24 – 26, 2006 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, serves as a nexus for a broad range of technology affiliated not-for-profit organizations, providing an opportunity for members to network, promote and learn in an environment in which education is the main priority.

Among the 25+ organizations are the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance), the Toronto Windows Server User Group (TWSUG), the Free Standards Group (FSG) and Canada’s association of Information Technology Professionals (CIPS), together representing over 27,000 IT enthusiasts throughout Canada.

a great opportunity to connect and engage with IT Pros, and to raise awareness about the group and its activities. We are also planning a great technical user group event at the Expo!
"The venue has proven to be an excellent opportunity for CATA members to meet face-to-face with industry vendors and to gain market intelligence on industry trends and patterns,” says John Reid, President, CataAlliance. “We are promoting the event across Canada to our multi-sector membership."

Jean-Luc David, President of TWSUG, described the event as “a great opportunity to connect and engage with IT Pros, and to raise awareness about the group and its activities. We are also planning a great technical user group event at the Expo!"

CIPS President David Hulme, I.S.P., is also excited about being involved: "CIPS is proud to be participating in the LinuxWord/NetworkWorld event as an association partner and speaker on the importance of the Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) designation today,” he says. “We are looking forward to the in-depth sessions and best practices sharing among fellow IT colleagues across the country."

“The Free Standards Group is pleased to be speaking and participating as an association partner at the LinuxWorld/NetworkWorld conference in Toronto,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Free Standards Group. “We are anticipating a good interchange of ideas around Linux and open standards.”
