Torontogospel.ca Allows Visitors to Listen to Gospel Music Without Violating Copyright Laws

As Internet users mull the fate of file-swapping networks, Torontogospel.ca has emerged as a viable and legal alternative. Listeners can enjoy their favorite songs without the threat of being sued.

Toronto, On (PRWEB) March 8, 2006 -- Torontogospel.ca (Toronto, Canada) - A new site on the World Wide Web enables Christians - and non-Christians alike - to listen to Gospel Music, without violating copyright laws.

When a visitor clicks on a song title, a PHP-generated media player pops up, allowing the user to listen to the entire track. This Custom Media Player prevents access to the music files on the website. Furthermore, the ‘Right Click’ function has also been disabled. When users attempt to ‘Right Click’ they are greeted with the following message – ‘Praise the Lord.’

While listeners cannot download music, they do have the option of returning to the site, if they want to hear their favorite Gospel Songs. CD sales may increase since visitors are able to listen to their favorite songs and artists before making a purchase. Simone Smith of Detroit, Michigan says, "Because of this website, I have probably bought over 15 CDs.”

"I wanted to create a website that allows visitors to listen to Gospel Music for free without compromising ethical standards," said the site’s creator, Vincent Newton, President of Torontogospel.ca.

Many of the visitors who frequent Torontogospel.ca expressed concern about listening to music for free, especially with recent headline controversies surrounding file-sharing programs. However, this concern is quickly resolved once they realize downloading music is not permitted.

While still in its infancy, Torontogospel.ca has already achieved a Google Page Rank of four out of 10 and has been indexed by all the major search engines, including Yahoo, MSN and AOL. The site expects to surpass its current monthly traffic of 30, 000 unique visitors within the next month. Allowing Internet users to listen to Gospel Music without downloading seems to be a viable alternative to file-sharing programs says the site’s creator.

Unlike other Gospel Music websites that demand subscription fees, installation of complicated software, and lengthy registration forms, Torontogospel.ca allows even the first time visitor to listen to Gospel Music for free by clicking on the song title. As the site grows, it will continue to seek creative ways to attract new visitors.
