Dayton Ohio Photographer to Donate Prints and Bike 100 Miles for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Jim Crotty, who owns and manages Picture Ohio, LLC in Dayton, has signed-on to bike the 100 mile Ride to Cure to be held in Montana in August, 2006. His goal is to raise $3,500.00. Crotty will be giving away a free 11"x17" print of one his nature or landscape photographs to each person who donates $50 or more.

Dayton, OH (PRWEB) March 20, 2006 -- Dayton-area photographer Jim Crotty, who owns and manages the Picture Ohio gallery and studio in Centerville, will be participating in the 2006 Ride to Cure to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Crotty’s goal is to raise to $3,500.00 prior to the Ride, which will take place on August 19, 2006, in Whitefish, Montana. This will be one of four bike ride locations for the Ride to Cure Diabetes. This particular ride in the Big Sky country of Montana is limited to 225 riders.

Crotty will be riding for his local “hero” – a Dayton-area child with Juvenile Diabetes – Marcus Mathews, who is 12 years old and attends the Neff School in Miamisburg.

“I had the good fortune of becoming acquainted with Marcus’ older brother, Chris Mathews, who is a fellow photographer who is extremely well-talented. Chris is very much involved in helping his younger brother, which won my admiration and respect. I was also motivated to participate after witnessing my wife Kristie’s involvement and success with the Team in Training Program, which raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, last year and how rewarding it was for her to run her first marathon in Columbus, Ohio.”

To help reach his fundraising goal of $3,500.00 for the Ride to Cure Diabetes, Crotty has decided to give a free 11”x17” inkjet print of any one of his nature, landscape and wildlife photographs displayed on www.ohiophoto.org or calmphotos.com to each person who donates $50.00 or more. These are archival-quality prints printed in his studio. He will also pay to have each print shipped and delivered to the donor’s location.

Crotty has a donation form in PDF format on his website at www.jimcrotty.com/jim_crotty_jdrf_ride_to_cure.htm. Donors can print and mail-in this form or they can donate online at http://ride.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.donate. Once on the page a donor will need to just insert “James Crotty” in the Search for a Rider field. Interested can also call Crotty at (937) 432-6711 or email at jim@ohiophoto.org for additional information or to request a donor form.

Crotty has also had some his recent photographic work published on the cover of the Spring/Summer Issue of Ohio State Parks Magazine, the Official 2006 Dayton Visitors Guide, Dayton: On the Wings of Progress coffee table style book and Impressions: the 2006 Showcase of Images published by the North American Nature Photography Association. He will also be serving as one of five judges in the upcoming Shoot the Hills Nature Photography Competition to be held the weekend of April 21-23, 2006 throughout Hocking Hills State Park in southeastern Ohio. He will also presenting his work during the competition in a public slide presentation titled “Let the Light Find You” Saturday, April 22, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m.

Picture Ohio, LLC is approaching its’ third year of being in business and includes commercial, freelance and studio photography services in addition to display and sales of Crotty’s nature and landscape photographs.
