With ontri.com, athletes of all levels now have a place to connect, search for training buddies and create their own online training communities.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) March, 20, 2006 – ontri.com, Inc. today announced that the triathlon training community has expanded its offering to enable triathletes, runners and fitness enthusiasts to connect, find training buddies and form their own online clubs. www.ontri.com launched its service in 2004 offering free triathlon training programs, marathon training programs, a training diary and a unique monthly superstars competition that motivates athletes to add miles to their workout regiment each month. Membership to the free service has tripled in the last year, and with recent enhancements that make it easy for athletes to connect, www.ontri.com is now a premiere social network for anyone interested in fitness. Its membership covers all 50 U.S. states, two dozen foreign countries and all levels of fitness enthusiasts, from first-time runners to seasoned Ironman champions.

"We continue to improve the site each month. Since we added the enhanced social networking capabilities, we’ve seen thousands of members connect, share information and meet new training buddies," said Jon Finegold, founder of ontri.com. “Staying on track with a training program can be tough and finding the right training partner is a great way to keep it fun and add some motivation to the process. ontri now makes it easy to find training partners that match your specific style and level.”

I'm serious, when I tell you, if it werent for this site, there is no way I would have been able to achieve my dream of completing a triathlon before I turned 30
Heidi Hack of Somerville, MA joined ontri.com last year in her first triathlon season. “2005 was my first season doing triathlons and ontri has been an amazing help as I had no idea where to start.” said Hack. “It has been a great way to connect with other athletes in my area and the superstars competition keeps me motivated. I love ontri.” Daphnie Sicre of Miami Beach, Florida noted how much ontri.com not only acted as a great resource of information but also how much the ontri community encouraged her during her training. "I'm serious, when I tell you, if it werent for this site, there is no way I would have been able to achieve my dream of completing a triathlon before I turned 30," cited Sicre.

"The sport of triathlon continues to grow each year. There are many new races that are accessible to athletes of all levels and that has really helped grow the sport,” says Finegold. “With more and more people getting into the sport, a place like ontri is an important resource to help athletes connect and get as much enjoyment out of the sport as possible.”
