"The Utopian Society" director, John Aguirre, said, "keeping on a tight 11 day shooting schedule was challenging, but with stellar talent on board like Austin Nichols and Malin Akerman, it wasn't so much tough, as it was fun." Malin and Austin are the kind of actors every director wants to work with. When it's time to work, they dive into their characters with total abandon to self ego, then, when off camera, they know how to bring the party on. The crew loved being around those two all day long. The director net Malin Akerman when she was flown out by Disney to screen test for Rob Schneider's, "The Hot Chick".
