Macintosh Poker Player Get New Options

Compatiblepoker.com has released new methods for Mac poker players such as running “Boot Camp” a dual boot process to play at places like Party Poker on a Macintosh.

(PRWEB) April 14, 2006 -- The days of simple Java applications to play Macintosh poker such as Pacific Poker (www.Mac-Pacificpoker.com) are not the only options to play Macintosh poker. Dual booting with boot camp is now an option if users prefer to use non-Mac compatible sites (www.compatiblepoker.com/Dual+Boot.cms.htm). Players can still continue to play at Pacific Poker on a Mac (www.Mac-Pacificpoker.com) without these methods.

The ability to run Windows on a Mac is finally here and Compatiblepoker.com customers which are primarily Mac users are giving praise to the ability to play poker on a Mac. Previously Mac users were left to simply using Java or native Mac poker rooms which were scarce. CompatiblePoker.com lists all the sites that are Macintosh compatible at their site but say now new Intel Mac users can play anywhere they want if they perform the “Boot Camp” dual boot unveiled by Apple and buy Windows software.

The beta that Apple launched is explained in full at Compatiblepoker in order to play online poker using their Macintosh. Virtual PC which was the common method of choice for Mac users wanting to play at Windows poker sites no longer entrigues them. Mac users said Virtual PC was too sluggish and disconnects were frequent.

Common places that new Mac / Windows users are choosing are places like Party Poker which were previously not accessible to Mac users not running Virtual PC. Java and native Mac poker rooms are still available for non Mac Intel users as well.

Some users are Compatiblepoker.com are complaining about how Windows based poker programs can send out DLL files to their computer and snoop around their programs in order to find cheaters using illegal bot like software. These virus like files are not apparent in Java because Java Runtime does not allow it. While these files may protect users from cheaters some are saying it is an invasion of their privacy while playing poker. It is enough to keep some users sticking to the list of Java based Mac compatible poker rooms found at www.Compatiblepoker.com says Roger the owner of the site.
