About MacScan

MacScan is a Mac OS X software product for PPC and Intel computers that detects, isolates and removes spyware and remote administration utilities. Using both real-time spyware definition updating and unique detection methods, MacScan quickly identifies a wide variety of spyware that can compromise the privacy and security of the Macintosh user. Three unique scans allow the user to scan their home folder, all system files, or specific folders, drives or devices. When spyware is detected, MacScan lets the user choose to isolate the spyware files in a single location, where they can be analyzed or removed from the system. In addition to scanning for spyware, MacScan also has the ability to purge Internet-related files created by web-browsers. These files may contain passwords, personal information, browsing history, and web site tracking codes.
