“Competitive Edge” show to feature series on American Muscle Cars

Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) April 22,2006, – Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce that its Competitive Edge show will feature a special three-part series on American Muscle Cars, highlighting products that fit the trends of today’s baby boomers. The show will air on Spike TV, ESPN2, and Fox Sports Net.

A muscle car, by the strictest definition, is an intermediate sized, performance oriented model, powered by a large V8 engine, at an affordable price. Instead of buying new model cars, those hooked on muscle cars buy older and older cars (from the 50s-70s mainly)—the better the vintage, the better the deal.

For example, Musclecarclub.com features one of the most extensive and informative web sites about American muscle cars. The Muscle Car Club is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and enjoyment of all American muscle cars. Everything is covered here, from Hemis to GTOs, Shelbys and even a few Buicks, with statistics, histories, descriptions, and pictures. The site’s gift shop includes accessories, apparel, featuring Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Ford, art work and posters, clocks and watches, car care items to make them look (and smell) like new, and much more.

There are shops all over the country devoted to restoring, rebuilding and reselling classic cars. For many, it is more than a hobby, sport or interest—it is a way of life. There are trade shows, conventions, regional groups, and more for socializing and comparing cars, but there is also the personal aspect of an individual interacting with road, car and speed and the pride he takes in a shiny, renovated classic.

The Competitive Edge show is a celebration of sports and sports enthusiasts, featuring the newest of products and ideas, trends in sporting events, commentary from professional athletes and sports experts, emphasis on local sporting events and interests. It is aired on local and national television networks, and produced by Platinum Television Group.
