Quicklogistics Welcomes Imports, Shuns Timber Pests

Customs brokers Quicklogistics helps ensure all goods are in full compliance with new U.S. import regulations. Wooden crates and pallets must now be pretreated and stamped signifying compliance with new wood packaging material import regulations. The second phase of enforcement went into effect on February 1, 2006, and Quicklogistics is busy making sure no crate gets left behind.

Brownsville, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2006 -- Phase II of the new wood packaging material (WPM) regulations, implemented on February 1, 2006, is now in full swing. Customs brokers in the United States have been poised and ready to help clients ensure their wooden packaging is always up to code. Brownsville’s Quicklogistics specializes in international traffic and U.S. customs, making the transportation of your goods in or out of the United States a smooth and simple process, free of red tape and loopholes.

The new regulations were put in place by The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection in an effort to reduce pest infestations carried by WPM. Many other countries have also adopted these international standards.

A team of affordable quality customs brokers, Quicklogistics assists clients with current regulations on a variety of products, including those that fall under Phase II for WPM. They take care of all the necessary import or export paperwork, transportation, shipping routes, and duty fees. Quicklogistics.us keeps apprised of the many rules, regulations, laws, and procedures related to international commerce, offering you an elevated level assurance and security.

Phase II of the regulation requires that all commodity imports entering the United States with WPM consisting of pallets and crates be either heat treated or fumigated with methyl bromide. Once treated, these items must be marked with the approved logo indicating their certified compliance. Any items not meeting these regulations will not be allowed into the United States and will be returned to the country of origin.

During Phase II, which lasts through July 5, 2006, items not meeting the new standards may still be allowed into the U.S. if it is determined that the offending WPM can be successfully separated from the imported goods, at the expense of the importer. After July 5, all imported goods will be required to be certified pest-free and separation will no longer be an option.

Quicklogistics works with the Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Communications Commission, Department of Agriculture, and other government agencies in order to ensure that your business transactions are carried out according to all of the most current regulations. Whatever your shipping needs may be, Quicklogistics has the right tools. “Every situation is unique when it comes to logistics. You come to us with a problem to solve,” says Rocio Saldivar, a representative of Quicklogistics, “and we tackle it until we find not just a solution, but the solution that works best for your needs.”
