What do Pele, DaVinci, Jon Stewart, George Clooney and Bono Have in Common

Find out more about WatchMojo.com's Top 50 Men with Mojo Feature, with profiles from the fields of music, film, athletics, politics, arts & sciences.

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) April 25, 2006 -- In the first poll of its kind, http://www.WatchMojo.com [WatchMojo.com], a leading internet video publisher, unveiled a list of fifty men throughout history who have had mojo.

Mojo, according to the panel, is a combination of charm, charisma, confidence, determination, tenacity and virtue. It's men who, when faced with adversity, have overcome challenges by showing polyvalence, flexibility, versatility and durability.

"Once we decided to do the list, we were adamant about avoiding a list that was limited to actors, models, singers and athletes," states executive producer Ashkan Karbasfrooshan. "So we asked: ‘if you were to throw a party and could invite fifty people – dead or alive – who would you invite?’"

Arguably, not rocket science. But then again, neither is People's Fifty Most Beautiful People, Maxim's Hot 100, Time's Man of the Year or Sports Illustrated 's Sportsman of the Year.

http://www.WatchMojo.com [WatchMojo.com]’s list is evenly split with men from the fields of athletics, film, music, politics, and arts and science. What’s more, twenty five of the men have left a legacy that impacts us to this day but are now deceased, while twenty five are alive and make their presence felt in today’s world.

While compiling the list was the beginning, next came the task of ranking the men. "Once we had the names, we asked: ‘if all these men were in a room, who would own the room?’ But to avoid ending up with the usual run of the mill list with actors, models, singers and athletes leading the pack, we forced the panel to use a 'draft' in order to evenly distribute the men from each category."

Admittedly, a lot of the usual suspects did not make the list. While that methodology ensured that five of the top 10 would be alive, it is interesting to note that of the Top 50 Men with Mojo, the top three men are deceased.

"I think that has more to do with the fact that back in the day, actors didn't make $10 million per film, singers didn't complain about the temperature of the bottled water in their hotel rooms, politicians entered politics for the virtue, and not the perks. So when we think of people we admire and who overcame adversity, naturally we have a preference for those who predate our era."

Not surprisingly, Americans led the way with thirty men making the list, followed by six Englishmen, two Germans, two Brazilians, and one man from Argentina, Ireland, Canada, India, Czech Republic, Cuba, Greece, Italy, South Africa and Jamaica respectively.
