AVST Offers Greater Integration With NEC Products

Involvement in UNIVERGE Solutions Partner Program enables AVST to design products that are attractive to NEC’s customer base and distribution channel.

Foothill Ranch, CA (PRWEB) April 24, 2006 -- Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST), a leading provider of unified communications solutions, has joined NEC’s UNIVERGE Partner Program, to deliver products with tighter integration to NEC communication products. This expands a relationship between AVST and NEC that spans more than 5 years, offering more choices, ease of use and return on investment for companies looking to upgrade their communications systems.

The UNIVERGE Solutions Partner Program is a new collaborative technical and marketing program established by NEC to create new solutions through integrating partner products (hardware and/or software) with NEC communication products.

"As IP telephony continues to gain popularity, we expect enterprise networks to shift toward unified voice and data networks, linking to new business applications," said Jay Krauser, General Manager of NEC. "It is important for us to assure our existing and prospective customers that our products work well with the top unified communications products such as AVST’s CallXpress® solution."

Building on its platform, which already offers the most switch integrations in the market, AVST’s CallXpress will soon boast additional synergies with NEC’s hybrid and IP platforms, as well as integrate with their award-winning MA4000 management solution. This provides system administrators with one application to manage user information across multiple communication applications, including CallXpress.

“We have a strong relationship with NEC at a developer level to ensure that AVST and NEC products integrate well in the market,” said Tom Minifie, AVST's Vice President of Product Management. “AVST is excited to work with NEC to deliver AVST unified communication solutions to the sizable NEC customer base and distribution channel."

Utilizing the NEC supported developer interfaces available through the UNIVERGE Solutions Partner Program, AVST will expand its existing CallXpress integration offering through the use of NEC’s LAN MCI and SIP specifications.

“Our objective is to provide our customers with easy to deploy, easy to use and easy to manage communication solutions that assist AVST customers to migrate to IP telephony,” added Minifie. “By continuing to design our products to work well with as many telephony systems as possible, we help businesses of all sizes, some of whom are not ready to completely change their communications infrastructure, fulfill their migration strategies at a comfortable pace while still enjoying the benefits of advanced messaging and speech capabilities.”

Last year AVST was acknowledged for this strategy when Frost & Sullivan awarded them with the 2005 Product Differentiation Innovation Award for the North American enterprise voice and unified messaging (UM) solutions market. The international strategic market and growth consulting firm noted that with unified messaging (UM) accounting for about 42 percent of the total messaging revenues in 2004, and estimated to rise to 55 percent in 2007, AVST has perfectly recognized the potential of the UM market and continues to design its solutions according to accurately identified messaging user migration characteristics.
