Consolidate IT will distribute emBoot’s iSCSI boot software, winBoot/i & netBoot/i in Europe.

Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) May 2, 2006 -- emBoot Inc. today announced a European distribution partnership with Consolidate IT. Head quartered in The Netherlands, Consolidate IT will distribute emBoot’s iSCSI boot software, winBoot/i & netBoot/i. Consolidate IT demonstrated booting Windows Server 2003 from EqualLogic storage using winBoot/i and Microsoft’s iSCSI initiator at the TINE tradeshow April 26 – 28, Amsterdam RAI.

Consolidate IT specializes in EqualLogic iSCSI storage, and distributes exclusively to channel partners covering continental Europe, Ireland and the UK. Consolidate IT sold 200 EqualLogic iSCSI storage arrays last quarter and will include 5 fully functional iSCSI boot client licenses with each EqualLogic array for customers to more easily adopt and deploy iSCSI boot for disaster recovery and server provisioning.

“iSCSI boot is a huge value add to iSCSI technology from EqualLogic. With winBoot/i customers save costs, reduce complexity and gain flexibility with increased reliability,” said Jur Faber, Director of Consolidate IT. “The local disk drive and RAID controller in servers has become obsolete when using winBoot/i. Booting from iSCSI permits consolidation by removing each component that is not needed, resulting in better architectures at lower costs.”

Boot from iSCSI centralizes Microsoft Windows operating systems via consolidation of operating system boot volumes, providing substantial management benefits and cost reductions. winBoot/i & netBoot/i offer a compelling solution for reducing complexity with disaster recovery and simplifying provisioning in the server room or data center. By booting from iSCSI, servers and blades can eliminate the need for local hard disks, thus reducing heat and power consumption.
