The Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio (EMAS) has added The Director’s Gym to its repertoire, featuring some of Hollywood’s most respected and up-and-coming directors working with students in the EMAS Master Class.

Los Angeles, CA (HRMarketer/PRWeb) May 2, 2006 -- The Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio (EMAS) has added The Director’s Gym to its repertoire, featuring some of Hollywood’s most respected and up-and-coming directors working with students in the EMAS Master Class.

With its first session in March of this year, The Director’s Gym has already attracted first rate directing talent. Michael Sucsy, director of the upcoming feature "Grey Gardens" starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore, and Cindy Popp, Producer/Director of the long running "The Bold and the Beautiful", have already taken part.

Actor/Director Michael Beach of NBC's "Third Watch" is slated next. Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director of the Pasadena Playhouse and active television director (including "Friends", "Frasier", "Everybody Loves Raymond") is slated to participate later this spring.

Ms. Mestnik explained, "Many film and television directors had expressed an interest in having a place where they could experiment, practice and explore their craft, free from studio and executive producer constraints. The EMAS Director's gym caters to the specific, creative wants and needs of each director. The program contains a series of short scenes (performed by the actors) for the director to work with in two separate, two-hour sessions."

Mr. Suscy remarked "No preparation? Brief commitment? Great actors. - Why not? The Director's Gym is an easy, fun, and effective way to stretch before a shoot. EMAS has many skilled, willing actors who want the experience of working with a variety of directors. This is the perfect venue for directors to tap into that talent."

Ms. Mestnik is excited to be able to host this opportunity for both her students and the directors. Adds Mestnik "The students in the EMAS Master Class are talented, experienced and committed actors. The studio wanted to add the experience of working with a variety of directors to their curriculum. The Director's Gym is a win–win situation for both the directors and our students. It's a wonderful place for artists to take risks in a risk free environment. To grow as craftsmen and artists."
