Albany, NY (PRWEB) May 03, 2006 -- American Archangel, a shimmering explosion of color on canvas by artist Leiah Bowden, has captured the hearts and minds of Americans from San Diego to New York during its formal debut this week.
In Dallas, the angel will greet patrons at the opening of Tony Kushner's Angels in America at the Risk Theatre Initiative. Founded in 2002, the independent Dallas-based Risk Theater Initiative (RTI) exists to drop its participants squarely outside the bounderies of the proverbial safety net through the vitality of theatrical production.
The angel was also a cause célèbre at BringThemHomeNow.US - a provocative and compelling Web site memorial dedicated by Martin Bayne to his younger brother, Richard Gerard Bayne, a casualty of the Vietnam War.
Bayne, a noted elder care advocate and owner of the 19" by 13" watercolor, talks about the first time he saw the painting: "It was love at first sight. There's a mystical quality to this piece that touched me at my deepest entry point." Bayne smiles, "It's the most beautiful piece of art I've ever seen. Besides, America could use an archangel right about now."
