DPMG, collaborating with Equality Forum and theCanadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce announced the opening of the auction of the domain Gaybar.com on EBay.com begining May 4, 2006.

Winnipeg, MB (PRWEB) May 5, 2006 -- DPMG, a world leader in web marketing, collaborating with Philadelphia-based Equality Forum and the Toronto-based Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce announced the opening of the auction of the domain Gaybar.com on EBay.com. DPMG Vice President Kevin Michaluk announced the commencement of the auction at noon May 4, 2006.

The auction runs from May 4 to noon May 14, 2006.

The domain offers developers and organizations in the leisure, hospitality, and entertainment fields an outstanding opportunity to acquire a highly-prized position in the growing online gay and lesbian community.
According to Michaluk “The domain offers developers and organizations in the leisure, hospitality, and entertainment fields an outstanding opportunity to acquire a highly-prized position in the growing online gay and lesbian community.”

With more than 1.6 million online searches for “gay bar” each month, development of the website offers a huge potential for the right developer. DPMG acquired the domain, which has a potential market valuation well in excess of $175,000, with the intention of developing an interactive portal website. However, other projects meant that the site was not built and DPMG now believe the domain might be better developed by an organization or company in the entertainment and leisure field.

Buyers will also be “doing well by doing good” as a significant portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to two major advocacy organizations. “If we can improve our bottom line while improving the situation of others, and the person or company that wins the auction has a great opportunity to do likewise, then that’s a win-win-win situation for everyone,” says Michaluk. Net proceeds from the auction will go to Equality Forum, a national nonprofit organization headquartered in Philadelphia. Equality Forum that undertakes high impact initiatives, produces documentary films, and presents the largest national and international GLBT civil rights forum, and the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, which is dedicated to the economics of equality and improving opportunities for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, owned/operated/friendly businesses, professionals, and students across Canada.

The auction also coincides with the Equality Forum 2006 conference, which is being held in Philadelphia, May 1 to May 7.

DPMG is a Winnipeg-based internet development company and a world leader in web marketing and website management.
