Bathtub Refinishing and Reglazing - Avoid Failure by Being Informed, Advises Veteran Paint and Coatings Developer

Consumers should be informed before they decide about whether bathtub refinishing is the best option, advises veteran paint and coatings developer, D C Foster.

(PRWEB) May 5, 2006 -- Veteran paint and coatings developer, D C Foster, advises consumers to be cautious when choosing a bathtub or tile refinishing company.

Foster said, "I have been asked many times in my 34 years as a coatings developer about bathtub refinishing, bathtub reglazing, bathtub resurfacing and tile refinishing. The main questions people ask are, does it work and what is the difference between resurfacing, reglazing or refinishing? There is no difference between refinishing, resurfacing or reglazing. They are the same thing; it is simply a matter of terminology."

Bathub refinishing failure and success are both about people skill and product quality. The people part is about whether the technician has any real tried and proven experience.

When consumers are dealing with a franchise operation it is not uncommon to find that the technician has gone through a crash course in the process. It is very difficult to learn all there is to know and also become proficient in the physical application.

This type of training can be compared to someone taking a 1 or 2 week crash course in "learning to drive a car". The individual can probably learn how to drive a car in a short time but would you trust the newbie to drive your family across the country?

This seems a bit dramatic for an example but considering what the bathtub refinisher is responsible for while refinishing the bathtub in a consumers home it seems to fit. Some of the aspects of refinishing can have some pretty serious consequences if not done properly, this is why it is important to be informed about bathtub refinishing before you decide.

DC Foster has been in coatings development for 34 years specializing in three primary substrates porcelain, ceramic and metal. He is also the chief formulator of the glazes for all of Carina Works products which can be seen at: http://www.carinaworks.com
