California Apparel Line "Old Guys Rule" Launches New E-commerce Web Site

Famous line with strong following launches brand-centered site at www.oldguysrule.com complete with blog, gallery and apparel offerings.

Ventura, CA (PRWEB) May 7, 2006 -- Old Guys Rule, long a favorite t-shirt brand among California's original surfing community, has launched its first worldwide e-commerce site — just in time for Father’s Day. The brand’s roots started with the “Old Guys” who first popularized surfing on the beaches of Southern California — surfers now in their 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Over the years, Old Guys Rule designs have grown to include other sports and hobby interests of “Old Guys,” including fishing, barbecuing, classic cars, rodeo, mowing the lawn and even watching TV. Along with t-shirts, Old Guys Rule designs are now featured on long sleeve T’s, headwear, boxers, sweatshirts, polos and accessories.

Without our retail partners, Old Guys Rule wouldn’t be the brand it is today. We’re proud to plug their stores on our site.
“Old Guys Rule is a brand that celebrates life and the accomplishments of guys who have been around the block,” says Thom Hill, owner of Streamline Designs, the exclusive licensee of Old Guys Rule. “This is fun clothing that serves as a badge of honor for guys who have lived lives well spent, but not nearly over.”

The Old Guys Rule site also contains a state-by-state store listing of its retail partners. The brand currently ships about 50,000 shirts a month to retailers across the country. “It was very important to us to create a site that promotes the folks who have helped this brand from the beginning – the smaller retail stores,” says Hill. “Without our retail partners, Old Guys Rule wouldn’t be the brand it is today. We’re proud to plug their stores on our site.”

A Gallery celebrating Old Guy accomplishments is also a primary feature of the site, which lets users upload photos of themselves or their favorite “Old Guy.” Current photos include shots of famous California surfers doing what they do best, as well as a group of self-proclaimed “Old Guys” who recently reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

A blog feature of the site highlights various “Old Guy” interests, including surfing, shopping, grilling and other pursuits.

The site was designed and produced by 3 Advertising of Albuquerque, New Mexico. “3 totally understood the voice of the brand and what we were trying to do,” says Hill. “Plus the site is highly functional, simple and geared for search engine optimization.”
