The Reverend Dr. James I. Clark, Jr. -- Educator, Civic Statesman, Community Spokesman and Religious Leader is honored by the Christ Temple Church, the Greater Refuge Temple, Churches of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the surrounding Harlem community on the occasion of his 70th birthday. In recognition of his many accomplishments, contributions to his organization and efforts to better the American Business Community, he was also nominated by the Directors of the Heritage Registry of Who’s Who™ and granted inclusion into their forthcoming 2006 – 2007 Edition.

New York (PRWEB) May 11, 2006 -- On the 100th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival and the birth of modern Pentecostalism, Dr. James I. Clark, Jr., one of its most distinguished leaders and spokesmen is honored.

The Reverend Dr. James I. Clark, Jr. -- Educator, Civic Statesman, Community Spokesman and Religious Leader is honored by the Christ Temple Church, the Greater Refuge Temple, Churches of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the surrounding Harlem community on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The Relationship of Theology and Social Action In The Black Apostolic Tradition
In recognition of his many accomplishments, contributions to his organization and efforts to better the American Business Community, he was also nominated by the Directors of the Heritage Registry of Who's Who™ and granted inclusion into their forthcoming 2006 -- 2007 Edition.

For the past 38 years, Clark has been an ordained Pentecostal minister. For 37 years he has served as Senior Pastor of the Christ Temple Church and for the past 18 years as Senior Assistant Pastor of the Greater Refuge Temple; both located in Harlem, New York. Consecrated as a Apostle in 1995; Clark currently, serves as the Presiding Bishop within his denomination, the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (COOLJC); http://www.cooljc.org one of the largest African American Pentecostal organizations in the U.S. He also oversees two of the organizations twelve Ecclesiastical Regions throughout the U.S. and Caribbean; and is the Dean and CEO of the organization's school of theology, the W. L. Bonner College located in Columbia, South Carolina.

Clark holds an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) from Teacher's College, Columbia University. Clark's dissertation, entitled, "The Role of Christian Religious Education in Transforming the African American, Apostolic Pentecostal Church's World View and Mission", soon to be a published work, explores his deeply held convictions, regarding the broad responsibility of the church to the world; is an extension of his Masters of Divinity Thesis entitled, "The Relationship of Theology and Social Action In The Black Apostolic Tradition"; which highlighted nearly 70 years of social involvement and activism by several African American Pentecostal preachers.

Clark has been married to Shirley Lorraine Matthews for 46 years and has three children, James III, Renee, and Rhonda and four grand daughters.
