(PRWEB) May 12, 2006 -- Lawbby.com is a welcome change for the thousands of attorneys that use the web to interact with other legal professionals. Sporting the state-of-the-art web technology used by MySpace.com, it allows lawyers to easily create their own corner of the web and communicate with other attorneys conveniently.

For the most part, lawyers are a very tech-savvy group of professionals.

From Palm-Pilots to Blackberrys to digital dictation tools -- not to mention a vast number of blogs on legal technology -- the legal crowd always seems to be on top of almost everything that’s "current."

Except for one thing: online communities.

Practically every message board, forum, newsgroup and listserve online that caters to attorneys is horribly out-dated. In fact, most of these sites are using technology that dates back to the late 90’s.

"They simply aren’t convenient or user friendly", says Chris Rempel, webmaster of Lawbby.com.

Chris is one of the masterminds behind Lawbby.com – which is sort of a "MySpace.com for Lawyers", as he puts it.

Together with his business partner, Kevin Cross, they came up with an idea to finally create a social network for the legal world that would use today’s technology, while providing a user-friendly interface for its members to communicate with each other.

"It’s a place where legal professionals can go for business, leisure or both" says Chris. "We’ve made it as easy as possible for anyone to create a profile on Lawbby.com and, essentially, create their own corner of the web."

What’s especially unique about Lawbby is that, like Myspace.com, users can easily publish their own blogs, create their own discussion groups, and quickly build up a network of friends and contacts.

"This is the perfect setup for lawyers that are looking for referral partners or even their next job because of its more personable atmosphere.

"If you’re there for fun, it’s an easy way to meet friends. If you’re there for business, it’s a very powerful way to market yourself quickly", explains Chris.

Lawbby.com was officially released on April 22nd, 2006.
