Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 18, 2006 -- The Violin Case, the only web site specializing in innovative gifts for string players, announced today that they are holding a competition for artworks that feature a stringed instrument. The competition is open to artists of all ages, local and international, who want to include their violin, viola, cello, or string bass in their artwork using the medium of their choice. Twelve winning artworks will be featured in a new 2007 Celebrate the Strings! calendar to be published later this year.

“In our experience many talented musicians are also have abilities in the visual arts, and their artwork reflects a love of being expressive with their instruments,” said Julie Tebbs, founder of The Violin Case. Submissions can be made by mail or email, and the entry deadline is 25 July 2006. The entry form and more competition details can be found online at www.theviolincase.com/art. “The web makes it possible for string players from all over the world to work together for a project like this.” added Tebbs.

Tebbs, a life-long violin player and instructor, launched the site in 2001 mainly as a result of the difficulty she had finding violin-theme gifts for her friends and students. The site offers a wide variety of items including figurines, t-shirts, posters, and full selection of elegant jewelry. Tebbs also writes an informative newsletter, and often posts letters and comments from her customers on the site, making it an informative and comfortable place for string players to gather online.

The Violin Case offers a full line of violin-theme gifts and collectibles for string players, teachers, and students. Owned and operated by Julie Tebbs, the Seattle based company is the web’s only source for unique violin gifts. Visit them today at www.TheViolinCase.com.
