Internet Radio Station To Provide Exposure to Growing Hard Rock Community

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) May 23, 2006 -- With the resurgence of heavy metal influence within genres of music such as pop and rock, BreakThru Radio (BTR) will present DJ Darkside’s special Heavy Metal show to air the week from June 5 - June 11. BTR first introduced its hard rock and metal show in April with a listenership of more than 400,000 tuning in to hear the latest in indie heavy metal.

BTR is devoted to giving a voice to talented, up-and-coming artists. It also has a unique policy that allows DJs to pick and play their own music. It is this feature that has allowed DJ Darkside to scour the best talent throughout North America and Europe to find the most cutting edge musicians in heavy metal. Unlike traditional radio, BTR has no restrictions on style - playing rock, punk, hip hop, electronica, alt-country, reggae, metal, soul, et al.

The heavy metal and rock fan is one of the most devoted in music
“The heavy metal and rock fan is one of the most devoted in music,” said BTR’s DJ Darkside. “Everyone at BTR is proud to lead the way in internet radio by providing fans with new music that cannot be heard anywhere else.”

DJ Darkside's Playlist for that show:

8 Bit Piece of @#$% - Circus of Dead Squirrels
Liez - 55 Escape
Army of The Living Dead - Curse of Instinct
Bloodwake – Crematorium
-
Hibernation Sickness Complete – Arcturus
To Aim And Miss – Elenium
Of Malice And Majesty – Epicurean
-
Spirit of Vengeance – Thunderblast
Demonslayer – Ignitor
Another Way To Loose Yourself - Bleed in Vain
Sell Myself – Alysium
-
Mindlock – Visitor

BTR has also showcased various music genres and scenes such as “Club Cavern,” featuring independent dance and electronica, “In the Mix” spotlighting the Atlanta music scene and a profile of Chicago’s Polyvinyl Records - to name just a few.

BTR broadcasts 24 hours a day on www.breakthruradio.com or www.NYTrack.com, New York's only website dedicated to the tri-state high school track community, reaching over 5 million high school students. For additional information about BreakThru Radio, please contact John Krisiukenas: 917-609-4844.
