Montgomery, Alabama (PRWEB) June 4, 2006 -- John Conyers Jr., nationally respected civil rights leader and 42 year Congressman from Detroit, Michigan will visit Montgomery, Alabama on June 10, 2006. He will be the guest speaker at the Alabama Statewide Citizens Universal Healthcare Forum at the Historic Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. The event focus will be on bill H. R. 676 also called the National Health Insurance Act.

June 7th will be a unique and historic day. It will happen once, and only once, that 6/7/6 corresponds with the identifying numbers of the United States National Health Insurance Act, H.R.676. Healthcare – NOW! adopted the idea of using the alignment of these numbers, 6/7/6, to inspire, promote and educate Americans about the benefits of the health insurance act introduced in Congress by Rep. John Conyers, Jr.

The bill creates a national health insurance program by creating a single payer healthcare system. The goal of the legislation is to insure that all Americans, guaranteed by law, will have access to the highest quality and cost effective healthcare services regardless of one’s employment, income or healthcare status.
According to Conyers, “The bill creates a national health insurance program by creating a single payer healthcare system. The goal of the legislation is to insure that all Americans, guaranteed by law, will have access to the highest quality and cost effective healthcare services regardless of one’s employment, income or healthcare status.” Presently, over 45 million Americans do not have healthcare insurance, and millions more are underinsured for catastrophic injuries or severe illnesses that require long term care and treatments."

On Saturday June 10 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Alabama Citizens will have the opportunity to discuss their personal experiences in the healthcare system and learn of current healthcare resources that are available for them. They will also learn about the Single Payer Healthcare Plan as a possible solution to America's healthcare crisis and what they can do to make this legislation a reality .
