Harbinger Technologies Group, a leader in counterterrorism training, data mining technologies and link analysis software, opened its technology development office in Starkville, MS on June 8, 2006 to add to its existing development team located at Harbinger HQ in McLean, VA.

(PRWEB) June 10, 2006 -- Harbinger Technologies Group, Inc., the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, and Mississippi State University jointly announced the opening of Harbinger’s new office in the Thad Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park. The announcement was made during a press conference held today at the Palmeiro Center on the university’s campus.

Harbinger Technologies Group, Inc., a consulting, training and software company founded by Starkville native Jeff Chapman, opened its Mississippi office doors in the Research Park on Monday. The company, which is leasing office space previously occupied by the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, will initially have 8 to10 employees, primarily software developers. The company expects that number to grow over the next year.

“As a native of Starkville, I recognize first-hand that Mississippi State University turns out some of the best and brightest software engineers in the country,” said Chapman. “I believe that opening this office will help Harbinger meet our need to recruit talented, dedicated employees while at the same time providing Mississippians solid jobs that allow them to stay close to home.”

Much of the work being performed in the Starkville office will initially be in support of Harbinger’s government customers. However, Harbinger anticipates the office will also support work for future private sector clients.

“The opening of this office represents what we hope will be the beginning of a long-lasting partnership between Harbinger and the great state of Mississippi,” said Chapman. “As Harbinger grows, so will our presence in Mississippi.”

Today’s announcement concluded more than a year of discussions between the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, Mississippi State University, and the state of Mississippi over possible locations.

“I think this is a great day for Harbinger, for our parent company ICx, and for Starkville,” said Chapman. “We are excited about the opportunity to be able to work with and be part of this great community.”
