The new amusement center boasts a quality that will entice water hounds from across the country -- a 70,000 square foot section of the park -- Wasserfest -- will be convertible to a year-round, indoor mecca of slipping and sliding.
No more worries of a passing thunderstorm ruining your day of fun. When the dark clouds appear, so does Wasserfest’s translucent roof to keep the rain out and the amusement in. The Wasserfest section is currently open for business; it consists of a Tidal Wave River, four tube slides, three speed slides, two kid’s pools, and a relaxing hot tub. The hours of operation are 11:00 – 6:00.
Surfenburg and Bastenhoff will open later this summer. They will add several water attractions to the park, including two uphill Master Blaster coasters, a wave lagoon, beaches, body slides, the Tiki Tikes kids’ area, two family raft rides, and the Boogie Bahn surf ride. Schlitterbahn will also construct and implement their renowned Transportainment River System, an array of three tubing rivers that connect all of the sections of the park together.
The price of admission varies as the waterpark offers a myriad of ticket options, including all-day, mid-day, two-day, season, and group discount (for parties of 15 people or more). They accept cash, traveler’s checks, personal checks, and all major credit cards. The use of inner tubes, body boards, and life vests are free of charge, and patrons are welcome to bring their own picnic from home.
The construction of the park is a welcome neighborhood addition to what is already one of the most popular destination spots in Texas – Moody Gardens. With 428 guest rooms and over 100,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, Moody Gardens can accommodate groups, families, and corporate travelers -- all within walking distance of the park.
