"Flight Alerts" automatically tracks and locates desired upgrades and Rewards tickets on airlines. Once a match is found, Flight Alerts notifies you via email, cell phone and PDA so you will know about the availability no matter where you are.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 14, 2006 -- ExpertFlyer.com, the premiere air travel information tool offering complete and efficient ways to access the ever changing details of worldwide air travel information, is introducing “Flight Alerts,” a new feature for its Premium subscribers that will automatically alert them when requested Class Upgrades or Award Inventories becomes available through select airlines. The new service, available free to Premium customers, will greatly reduce the frustration and time-consuming process of searching for available upgrades and rewards tickets online or on the phone.

Oftentimes the upgrade and awards inventories of an airline are not loaded into the reservation system until shortly before flight departure with the hope of selling the seat outright. And once the inventory is made available, it could be gone in a matter of hours or even minutes without most travelers ever knowing they were made available at all. This has made finding desired upgrades and awards tickets extremely frustrating for frequent travelers.

“ExpertFlyer understands the everyday frustration of the frequent business traveler because the company was founded by frequent business travelers who experienced the same level of frustration,” says Chris Lopinto, co-founder of ExpertFlyer.com. “Aside from the unique features we currently offer our members, the new Flight Alerts will provide immediate alerts to requested upgrades and awards should they become available.

“Members can program up to 20 alerts at any given time and request notification of any matches be sent to three separate email addresses including PDA’s cell phones, and pagers,” Mr. Lopinto continued. “The new Flight Alerts will save hours of frustration and time searching for that ever-elusive upgrade or award ticket and give our members the upper hand at securing any available inventory once they become available.”

The Flight Alert is broken into three categories: Notified, Pending and Expired. A status screen will show travelers which alerts have successfully met their travel itinerary, which are still active and which alerts have expired because the flight date and time has expired without a match. And through the use of proprietary technology, Flight Alerts will check availability more frequently as the departure date and time gets closer, giving Premium members greater opportunities to secure their desired upgrade or award seat.

ExpertFlyer’s Flight Alerts program will be available free to all new and existing Premium subscribers.
