The "Read the Fanzine LIVE" gig+club night organisers are giving out a free CD to let people have a taste of the bands on offer.

London, England (PRWEB) June 14, 2006 -- "Read the Fanzine" is a monthly live new band and club night held at the Progress Bar in Tufnell Park, London on 17th June, 8th July and 1st Saturday of the month from August.

It’s been a lot of work tracking down quality artists and getting them to agree to play our night and submit a track to our CD, but I sat down and listened to it in the car yesterday and just thought 'wow' this is a great compilation!
The organisers have come up with the novel idea of giving out a CD containing songs from 18 artists who will be playing the night live between June and December 2006.

Founder JK explains "The problem with posters and flyers advertising up-and-coming bands is that nobody has heard of them! All but die-hard live music fans would rather go and see bands they’ve heard on the radio than venture into the unknown, yet they are missing out on the excitement of seeing some incredible new bands before they hit it big, and for a fraction of the price of seeing an established band."

He continues "By giving people a free CD we give them a convenient way to audition 18 of the artists who have agreed to play our night between June and December 2006. We try to keep things quite eclectic, so we don’t expect every track to appeal to everyone, but we do think that most people will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of many of the artists contained on the disk, and hope that they will check out the artists they like on the web, and hopefully check them out at one of our nights."

"It’s been a lot of work tracking down quality artists and getting them to agree to play our night and submit a track to our CD, but I sat down and listened to it in the car yesterday and just thought 'wow' this is a great compilation!"

The CD will be given away at Read the Fanzine LIVE gigs, outside Camden Tube, and is also available by emailing your postal address.

About "Read the Fanzine LIVE"
"Read the Fanzine LIVE" is a monthly live new band and club night held at the Progress Bar in Tufnell Park, London on 17th June, 8th July and 1st Saturday of the month from August.

It is run by a group of music lovers who are determined to make "Indie" gigs more entertaining by paying attention to detail, and building a genuine rapport with the bands. Since the organisers do it for the buzz rather than to make a profit, they try to create the type of gigs they would enjoy themselves.

"Read the Fanzine LIVE" is completely opposed to any form of Pay to Play.

Press tickets available on request for any show.
