Nearly 1,000 Staffing and Recruiting Professionals Link Sales, Sourcing and Client Relationship Effectiveness to the Type of Technology Used
Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 19, 2006 -– Bullhorn, the global leader in On Demand staffing and recruiting software, sponsor of the 2006 Staffing and Recruiting Trends research report, released the report today. The report cites the effectiveness of using particular types of technology, ranging from manual methods and spreadsheets to front office solutions, for sales, client relationship management and sourcing. Staffing and recruiting professionals using sophisticated front office solutions demonstrated levels of effectiveness and satisfaction at rates up to 50% higher than those who used spreadsheets, email and contact management systems. Nearly 1,000 staffing and recruiting professionals participated in the study, including 55% at the executive level. Recruiters and sales people constituted almost half of all respondents at 47%. Professionals from a wide variety of industries participated in the study. However, information technology and accounting and finance were ranked as the top two industry categories.
As a result of the significant participation by executives and recruiting and sales professionals, the core staffing and recruiting business issues of sales to new clients and sourcing candidates dominated respondent responses. Closing new business (38%) and sourcing candidates (27%) were cited as the two most important issues facing firms in 2006. However, a closer analysis of the data indicates that firms using sophisticated front office solutions also noted the importance of managing existing client relationships and profit margins at nearly the same levels as sales to new clients and sourcing. Consequently, the use of front office solutions affords staffing and recruiting firms a greater level of effectiveness in managing their business across the core areas of new client sales, client relationship management, sourcing and improving profitability.
In addition to measuring the effectiveness of various staffing and recruiting technologies, the report also gathered information on trends related to sourcing and the adoption of technology. Not surprisingly, the two largest sourcing trends cited were the use of job boards and social networks at 87% and 74%, respectively. However, respondents also noted the need of an integrated, front office solution to realize the greatest efficiency in using job boards and social networks. Conclusively, the report also demonstrates that the use of sophisticated technology in the staffing and recruiting industry is still in its early stages. More than 94% of all respondents continue to use legacy or propriety solutions rather than an On Demand, integrated front office. As a result, there is a tremendous opportunity to create greater competitive advantage across all aspects of a staffing and recruiting firm.
