3D and 4D Ultrasound Fetal Images Thrill Expectant Parents

For many expectant parents, nine months is just too long to wait. Anxious for the birth of their child, many parents-to be are using progressive 3D and 4D ultrasound technology to bring images of their unborn baby to life.

AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) June 20, 2006 -- For many expectant parents, nine months is just too long to wait. Anxious for the birth of their child, many parents-to be are using progressive 3D and 4D ultrasound technology to bring images of their unborn baby to life.

From a yawn to a stretch, a blink or a wave, three-dimensional and four dimensional ultrasounds allow expectant parents to take a peek at their baby’s first real-time movements inside the womb. Equally exciting is the ability to see what the baby is going to look like before he or she is born.

“These incredible ultrasound images help create a positive emotional bond between expectant parents and their baby prior to the birth,” said Kathy Dimmick, co-founder and CEO of United Imaging Partners, the largest, fastest growing and most respected group of 3D/4D ultrasound providers with more than 70 locations nationwide. “The pleasure of seeing your baby’s face for the first time is not only miraculous, but priceless as well.”

Using the ultra-modern GE Voluson 730 PRO Ultrasound machines, activities of the baby inside the womb can be seen clearly, which usually is difficult or impossible to identify on 2D scanning. All scans at United Imaging Partner facilities are limited to no more that 30 minutes in duration. Typically the scans are for 15-20 minutes.

Ultrasound has been used safely in obstetrics for the past 35 years. Approximately 250 million fetal ultrasounds are performed per year in the United States. Research shows that 3D and 4D ultrasound scans are safe for the mother and the fetus. Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound at United Imaging Partner locations must already be under the care of an obstetrician or nurse/midwife and have already completed a medical level two diagnostic ultrasound, and provide verification of this. The optimum time for an elective ultrasound scan is between 24-34 weeks of pregnancy.
