BEVERLY, MASS. (PRWEB) JUNE 27, 2006 -– Selective Micro Technologies, creators of Selectrocide™ chlorine dioxide, the first point-of-use, 99% pure chlorine dioxide disinfectant, announced today that Ken McCammon, PhD, has joined the company to lead its US horticulture sales division. Effective immediately, McCammon, a 15-year veteran of the horticulture industry, will be responsible for U.S. sales of horticulture products to growers and distributors including Griffin Greenhouse & Nursery Supplies, B.F.G. Supply Co., Minnesota Distribution & Manufacturing, and Western Farm Services.

Selectrocide controls algae in irrigation lines, saving over $100 million in seedling and cutting losses in the U.S. “The horticulture industry is rapidly adopting Selectrocide in the greenhouse. Ken’s expertise with both the science and business of the greenhouse industry will go a long way toward helping growers improve yields and profits,” said John Warner, President, Selective Micro Technologies.

Mr. McCammon will participate with scientists from Selective Micro Technologies in the Ohio Short Course (July 9-11, 2006) to demonstrate the cost and losses associated with not controlling algae.

Prior to joining Selective Micro®, McCammon was Account Manager for Nunhems USA, a $50 million agricultural production and sales company. Prior to his work with Nunhems USA, McCammon was a crop team leader with Sunseeds Company. Mr. McCammon holds PhD and MS degrees in vegetable breeding and genetics from Michigan State University. His undergraduate degree in plant science was received from Southeastern Louisiana University.
