Armedia LLC announces Release 1.1 of their flagship product, Armedia SCM, a web based source code management product built on EMC Documentum Content Server.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 3, 2006 -- Armedia LLC, is pleased to announce the newest release of their flagship product, Armedia SCM. As a web based source code management product built on EMC Documentum’s Content Server and Web Development Kit (WDK), Armedia SCM allows customers to store their source code, which may be used to display content, in the same location as the content itself.

With Armedia SCM being the sole source code management product designed specifically for EMC Documentum, Armedia is pleased to continue providing a product tailored to customer needs. Terence McDevitt, Director of Product Development stated, “Release 1.1 of Armedia SCM demonstrates our continued commitment to provide the best source code management system available for EMC Documentum. We are pleased to have incorporated customer feedback into release 1.1 along with powerful new features to help developers perform their job more effectively.”

Armedia SCM 1.0 provided the ability to achieve maximum ROI by consolidating source code and content into a unified enterprise platform, reducing redundant costs around infrastructure, support, and training. Developers also received the functionality of library and build management services, as well as administrative and integration services, all critical in the overall development process. Leveraging Armedia SCM 1.0, version 1.1 continues to enhance the developer’s experience through:

  • Branch and Merge functionality – Users can now branch source code and later merge branched changes back into the original source. This branching allows for extension of multiple development paths for the same code base.
  • Scheduled Builds – Administrators can now schedule a build to run at a specified interval by creating a single build template. Development teams now have the ability to create nightly builds to gauge how their code base compiles.
  • Enhanced Eclipse integration – More power is now given to the most widely used Java IDE, Eclipse, making Armedia SCM even more accessible to developers.

“This release helps us move one step closer to achieving full management of source code and content within the EMC Documentum platform,” McDevitt continued. With key functionality in place, future releases of Armedia SCM will center on integrating source code and content by merging the creation, editing, and publication of both.
