London (PRWEB) July 7, 2006 -- World-Check the leading provider of heightened risk intelligence, today announces its commitment to the world’s largest orphan charity, SOS Children’s Villages. World-Check will be sponsoring fifty children in five villages in Africa and in addition will sponsor a further eight villages across the world.

World-Check is to mark its fifth anniversary by embarking on a social responsibility programme in conjunction with SOS Children’s Villages. These Villages care for orphaned children, very often the innocent and helpless victims of armed conflict and persecution. Initially World-Check will sponsor fifty children from five villages in Liberia, Sudan, Somalia, Rwanda and Zimbabwe and in addition, World-Check has committed to sponsoring a further eight SOS Children’s Villages in Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Serbia & Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

“World-Check has had 5 extremely successful years since it was founded in late 2000. The company only exists because of bribery, corruption, terrorism, arms dealing, human and drug trafficking,” said David Leppan, CEO and Founder of World-Check. “We felt that we needed to give something back and in particular make a contribution to the societies that suffer most from the very issues World-Check was set up to address.”

Ruth Paskins Gordon, Development Manager of SOS Children’s Villages said, “In many countries where corruption is rife, it is often the children who suffer the most. Where communities and families are torn apart, children’s security and wellbeing are severely endangered. World-Check’s contribution will help us support these children overcome the injustice and hardship they face as well as provide them with a family home, education and future.”

World-Check is looking forward to working together with SOS Children’s Villages to give these children a solid foundation upon which to build a brighter future for themselves and others.
