Andra Townsends makes a hit at Operation Homecoming Branson 2006. Her hit record "Hidden Heroes" bring tears to Vietnam Veteran.

Branson (PRWEB) July 12, 2006 -- Singer Andra Townshend stole the hearts of veterans young and old at the annual Operation Homecoming in Branson, MO. Andra’s song, “Hidden Heroes,” became the event’s theme song. She co-wrote the song with Eddie Kilgallon, the hit song-writer behind country legend George Straight.

The star-studded event, which honors the brave and courageous efforts of veterans, was pioneered by Ross Perot in 2005 and has drawn huge crowds ever since. Some of the performers were Johnny Lee, Chely Wright, Moe Bandy, Mickey Gilley, Jeff Cook, and Paul Revere and the Raiders.

Andra’s performance and real-life stories of loved ones sent to war brought tears to the veterans’ eyes, capturing the hearts of these brave men and women and their families.

Andra impressed everyone who met her, standing in the hot sun for hours signing autographs, greeting the veterans, and posing for pictures with her fans.

Jeff Moss, a former Vietnam helicopter pilot, was so moved by Andra’s lyrical voice that he requested she sing the national anthem acapella.

Chris Richard, another veteran, waited until 10pm on Sunday just to hear her sing “Hidden Heroes” a second time.

This intense appeal to these veterans is in part attributed to Andra’s humble demeanor. Fame and fortune do not drive her to succeed. Instead she attempts to raise awareness of the commitment put forth by veterans of every age and from all wars.

Andra Townshend’s latest album, Andra, touches upon many topics ranging from honoring our soldiers to a woman’s place in our modern world. A portion of the sales from this album will be donated to the National Music Foundation. Andra continues to dazzle audiences near and far, constantly striving to improve her sound and the world in which we live.
