The Chicago Area Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), one of the largest women’s organizations with more than 90 chapters, recently elected Sharan Tash, founder of The Professional Networker, Inc., to the new position of Programming Director for 2006-2007.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 13, 2006 -- The Chicago Area Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), one of the largest women’s organizations with more than 90 chapters, recently elected Sharan Tash, founder of The Professional Networker, Inc., to the new position of Programming Director for 2006-2007.
Tash will lead the Program Committee, a team that creates and arranges monthly programs that support the growth of women business owners throughout Chicago’s four quadrants: North Suburban, Northwest Suburban, Southwest Suburban and the City. Tash will also resurrect NAWBO’s Speaker’s Bureau in conjunction with Engaging Speaker’s of Schaumburg.
The board appointment reflects Tash’s three-year history of active NAWBO membership and service. In 2005, she won the National “Rookie of the Year” Award at the organization’s national convention. As chairperson of the Membership Development Committee for suburban Chicago last year, Tash reacted to the survey conducted by NAWBO that revealed the members’ need for local programs. This led her to help
create the programming director position, as well as three NAWBO leads groups: Highland Park, Northbrook and Schaumburg. These groups allow business owners the opportunity to meet twice a month to exchange leads and referrals.
Networking a “Natural” for Tash
“I’m a true believer in ‘pay it forward’ networking,” said Tash. “When you look for opportunities to help other businesspeople grow, you ultimately expand your own business and professional growth. Becoming the NAWBO-Chicago Program Director gives me the chance to do this on a large scale. I’m very excited about working with the talented group of women on the board and Programming Committee, and other NAWBO members and corporate sponsors throughout Chicago.”
