The BPM Group today announced a partnership with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) BPM Roundtable to be led by Professor Michael Rosemann of the QUT and the BPM Group’s Australasian Chapter Chair, Imre Hegedus.

(PRWEB) July 14, 2006 -- Professor Michael Rosemann of the QUT and the BPM Group’s Australasian Chapter Chair, Imre Hegedus, today announced the partnership signifying the pre-eminent roles that both organisations play in the region. The integration of the BPM Roundtable with the BPM Group and Chapter will provide members of both groups with greater benefits both in terms of the breadth of exposure to BPM knowledge and depth of content. Professor Michael Rosemann, Founder and Chair of the Australian BPM Community of Practice (Roundtable) said that "the integration with the BPMG organisation will provide all current and future members of the Australian BPM Roundtable with an even better access to BPM-relevant knowledge. At the same time, it acknowledges the mature nature of this established BPM community of practice by making it Australia’s only national and regular BPMG meeting point."

The BPMG have recently established local chapters in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne creating local forums for members to network and increase their knowledge of BPM. Imre Hegedus, Australasian Chapter Chair said “it was a natural progression to partner with the BPM Roundtable as both groups have similar goals in consolidating and enhancing the local body of BPM knowledge. Both groups are well respected in the region and constitute a wealth of knowledge and experience. I believe that the foundations to firmly embed ‘process thinking’ into Australian organisations have just been set.”

The format and running of the two groups will remain largely unchanged though Professor Rosemann and Mr. Hegedus will partner to leverage mutual benefits for the membership. The closer working relationship is likely to see better alignment and integration between research, industry training, tertiary education and industry experiences of BPM.

Steve Towers, BPM Group CEO, sees it as “a great move forward for both parties, and importantly, for our stakeholders/customers in terms of the professionalisation of BPM in the region.”
